Dec. 27th, 2018 06:27 pmDecided to try and start keeping track of my reading on here, since I keep forgetting to add/review books on Goodreads and my posts on Tumblr aren't dated or tagged, so swiftly vanish into the aether.
Most recently, I read Neanderthal Opens The Door To The Universe. 4/5 overall, plenty of cliches but it did make me very emotional and it handled a storyline I usually hate in a way I surprisingly didn't. Or maybe not surprisingly, considering the storyline was a queer one and it turned out the author was queer; that also might explain why overall it handled queer stuff in a casually decent way that made it stand out a bit, even though the two main characters appeared to be straight & cis. Good read if you like YA contemporary stuff in general; it also reminded me a bit in tone of Going Bovine but less fantastical.
Currently I got my hands on The Bear and the Nightingale and Ace of Shades, and am currently deciding which to read next. Further bulletins as events warrant.
